History
Joy Communications has been a fixture in Florida since 1982 when the founder, Charles
Joy, went into business servicing phone systems and running cables. The company
built a reputation for timely and dependable service and had grown to 2,800 loyal
customers by the time Peter Engle purchased the company in August 2000.
Peter used his considerable experience gained at Nortel and SITEL to grow Joy both
geographically and in variety of products and services offered. This included the
purchase of Telegrowth Inc. of Tampa in October 2003, South Florida Teleservices
of Miami in September 2005, Antec Inc. of West Palm Beach in November 2005, and
Affiliated Telephone Company Florida of Ft. Lauderdale and Orlando in February 2006.
In June 2006 Joy Communications moved into its new corporate headquarters which
is a state-of-the-art facility designed to provide quality service and support to
its customers.
Today we service 10,000 customers throughout South and Central Florida with state-of-the-art
communications technology and highly trained and certified voice, data, and cable
technicians. Among our customers are some of Florida's most prominent companies,
including Seacoast National Bank, Grow Federal Credit Union, Martin County, Healthcare
of the Palm Beaches, and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Over the years, Joy Communications has continued to expand its product offerings.
We now provide not only business telephone systems and cabling ranging from copper
to fiber but also data networking, IT outsourcing, and surveillance systems. As
an authorized AT&T partner, we can further offer local, long distance and Internet
service of any required capacity. And we are very proud of our proven track record
of quickly assisting our customers with disaster/hurricane recovery efforts across
town and across the state.
In short, we strive to be the single point of contact for all our
customers' communications, data, and surveillance needs.
